Lot 37 is the first of seven planned solar installation projects that will expand renewable energy generation across the Twin Cities campus kicking off this year.

Together, these projects by Energy Management and Capital Project Management support the 2023 Climate Action Plan, which calls for increasing on-campus solar capacity to 6 megawatts by 2033 and 12 megawatts by 2050 as part of the University's broader commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving carbon neutrality.

This phase will add 4 megawatts of solar capacity through installations on surface parking areas and other rooftop sites.
