Eva Benson is a first-year master’s student at the University of Minnesota pursuing a degree in Applied Economics. She graduated in May 2025 from St. Olaf College with degrees in Environmental Studies and Quantitative Economics. Eva is passionate about integrating scientific knowledge with economic analysis to develop practical, data-driven solutions to climate change. Her academic interests include atmospheric sciences, environmental health, and the economic valuation of ecosystem services, with a focus on translating research into actionable strategies.
Originally from Minnesota, Eva developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors through skiing and spending time in the mountains. These experiences sparked her interest in the economic and community impacts of a changing climate, and continue to shape her commitment to advancing sustainable systems at both the local and institutional levels.
Outside of work, Eva enjoys skiing, biking, and exploring the outdoors, as well as spending time in the Twin Cities with friends and family.
