Julia joins the Office of Sustainability to support climate action projects on the Twin Cities campus. She is a values‑driven planning and sustainability professional focused on building resilient, sustainable, and thriving communities. Most recently, she permitted community solar gardens for a Minneapolis developer, helping advance local renewable energy deployment. Prior to this, she was the graduate Planning Intern for the City of Minneapolis Planning Department, where she contributed to building more equitable public notice processes. Her graduate studies have focused on community-scale climate work in Minneapolis. She recently developed a Climate Adaptation Plan for South Uptown neighborhood, and a Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Reduction Plan for a local catering business. Julia additionally brings four and a half years of collaborative problem solving and relationship building with clients, where she supported summer camps and organizations championing youth outdoors. She loves people and authentic relationships are the center of her work. She holds a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary environmental studies from the University of Michigan. She will graduate in spring 2027 with a Master of Liberal Arts in Sustainability, with a focus in urban planning, from Harvard University Extension School. In her free time, she loves spending time outside, being active in her community, and exploring the city and state by bike.
