Yvonne Mongare is a student at the University of Minnesota, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has been actively involved in numerous student organizations, such as the Public Health Alliance Student Association and the Rural Health Interest Group, where she has advocated for health equity in rural and marginalized communities.

A passionate advocate for health equity, environmental justice, public health education and policy, Yvonne has contributed to various public health and climate-focused projects, including presenting at the 2024 Youth Climate Justice Summit through Climate Generation and United Nations COP28. She has also worked as a contributor on the Planetary Health Report Card for the School of Nursing during the 2023-2024 school year. Her work also includes developing policy recommendations and educational materials to increase awareness of climate-related health risks, particularly among underserved populations.

With her background as a Certified Nursing Assistant and as a community organizer, Yvonne brings a unique perspective to her role, combining hands-on healthcare experience with a deep understanding of public health policy and climate resilience.
