Climate Action Planning Intern
UMN Office of Sustainability

Jacob is a graduate student in Applied Economics. His research focuses on global climate-economy modeling and using econometrics to solve spatial problems. He started working with the Office of Sustainability in Fall 2022 when developing the Twin Cities Climate Action Plan (CAP). At the end of that semester, Jacob finished his undergraduate in Applied Economics and Spanish-Portuguese Studies. After facilitating the development of implementation steps for all CAP champions, he aided in submitting system wide sustainability rankings. Jacob currently applies his economic degree through creating nonrenewable energy financing models for campus projects and manages the Twin Cities greenhouse gas inventory.

He grew up here in the Twin Cities but he hasn't grown tired of Minnesota weather. In his free time, he is either rock climbing, running, or hiking through one of Minnesota's State Parks. If he isn't outside, he's probably climbing indoors or setting climbing routes as a routesetter at the Twin Cities climbing wall!
