is the first of seven planned solar installation projects that will expand renewable energy generation across the Twin Cities campus kicking off this year.
Join and on July 15 from 9-10 a.m. at for the groundbreaking of the first of seven new solar installations planned for the Twin Cities campus. It's an exciting milestone as we continue expanding renewable energy and advancing our Climate Action Plan.
Together, these projects by and support the 2023 Climate Action Plan, which calls for increasing on-campus solar capacity to 6 megawatts by 2033 and 12 megawatts by 2050 as part of the University's broader commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving carbon neutrality.
This phase will add 4 megawatts of solar capacity through installations on surface parking areas and other rooftop sites.
